What we collect

We store your email for passwordless sign-in, your age and terms confirmation, the preferences and alerts you choose, a public pseudonym, saved records, contributions, moderation history, and limited security logs. Uploaded evidence may include photos, short video, audio, and an editable transcript when that feature is available.

What is public

Your email is not public. If a contribution is approved, your pseudonym, report, selected rating, and approved evidence may be public. Corrections and media remain non-public while pending. Imported Reddit material links to its original public post.

Media precautions

Common photo formats are resized and re-encoded in your browser to remove embedded device and location metadata. Some formats, video, and audio cannot yet be guaranteed metadata-free; the submission screen labels this limitation. Do not include faces, addresses, shipping labels, prescription details, or private communications.

Service providers and retention

We use DigitalOcean for application and object storage infrastructure and Paradise Modern tools for anti-abuse, transactional email, privacy-conscious analytics, and AI-assisted workflows. We retain account data while your account is active, short-lived sign-in tokens and security events only as needed for abuse prevention, and moderation records as needed to protect the integrity of the community.

Your choices

You can change preferences, edit or remove your reviews, withdraw pending corrections, sign out, or delete your account from your field notes. Account deletion removes your email and hides community reviews and media. Legal or security retention may apply where required.
